A new partnership between Durham Mental Health Services (DMHS) and Rouge Valley Health System (RVHS) was recently featured in an article in Metroland Papers (This Week, News Advertiser).
DMHS and RVHS have a long and fruitful history of collaboration. In 2012, the partnership between DMHS Crisis Services and RVHS Inpatient Mental Health won a “Leading Practice” award from Accreditation Canada. DMHS and RVHS jointly operate a day program for individuals with mental health problems in Ajax and share office space in Pickering at a site that will eventually host an Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) Team along with case management, peer support and day program services.
This newest partnership will create a full-time mental health nursing position at DMHS which will be integrated with RVHS’ ACT Team. To read the article on this exciting new collaboration, please visit
