On Friday, April 13, Breakthru Entertainment hosts a benefit concert for Durham Mental Health Services at Oshawa’s Moustache Club (15 Simcoe Street North, 2nd floor). A variety of local bands including The Heartless Romantics, Sonorous and Mike Pawlito will perform in support of mental health.
“The bands are donating their time and talents because the cause is so important,” explains Breakthru Entertainment Events Coordinator Matt McCartney. “This is our second year doing a benefit show. Last year we supported a great Toronto organization but this year, we wanted to keep it local. There is so much need for effective mental health support in Durham Region, especially with Durham College losing their Reading Week and going through the stress of the strike.” Matt especially noted the generosity of Jacob Hamayda, owner of the Moustache Club, in lending his venue for a second year in a row to support mental health services.
Tickets are $10 at the door. For more information, please visit https://www.facebook.com/events/1926140997696087/.
